Two B-day cards
So February is my birthmonth and two people share my birthday whom I am close to. This one was for my best friend. I just stamped a tree put hearts in it for leaves and a small bird. I rolled grass along the bottom with a wheel stamp and made heart flowers in the grass with a small heart stamp. Pretty simple.
This one is for my niece. A cupcake mounted on apricot paper and tied with a pink ribbon. Stamped some hearts around.
Open it up and its a pop up! this is done by using a word window punch to make to slits in the card. You then fold that inner portion of the card between the two slits inward. Glue another mounted stamped paper to it and volia pop up card. the apricot paper on the front folds over to the back of the card covering the slits. I learned this from my buddy Julie A.
Enjoy!

Girl Birthday Card

This was for a friend's daughter. The papers are all from DCWV Spring 2007 stack. The flowers are white cardstock I punched with a paper puncher (the daisies along the top are just two flower punches layered together).
The stamp is from a Stampendous word stamp set, and is stamped in white chalk ink and touched up with a white paint pen.
The top stripe is accented with white satin ribbon. The dashes on the bottom strip were made with a white paint pen. The center of the flowers were made using the same paper as the strips and a normal hole punch.

Its A Girl
So I finally found out what that design sketch thing was that some of you were talking about. I saw one on someones blog and was inspired to do this. I think if we want to start doing them together on here that would be fun!
So quickly, I stamped flowers on the card and rolled flower on the pink paper. Stamped a baby and colored her in, but her on a scalloped circle Thanks Jessica! and tied a bow around it. I also stamped Its a girl and colored in with my white pen the daisys, the centers of some flowers and the baby's poka dots and zipper.

Hoppy Birthday Sophie
I made this card for my niece. I stamped some yellow gifts on the card in a pattern. Then I stamped two frogs in dark green and sponged them to color them in with a lighter green. Then I cut out the frogs. Okay that took awhile. After that I stamped two presents and cut one in half. Put the sitting frog on the long present and the jumping frog holding the small present. Stamped "hoppy birthday" cut it out and Tag Corner punched it, mounted it on blue and punched it again. Finally I tied a red ribbon and cut a wavy edge. I also colored the paper behind the wave with a yellow marker to make it stand out more.

You Take the Cake!
This is a birthday card for a friend of mine.

I stamped the light purple card with flowers and those little flourishes. Then I stamped the cupcake. This time with chocolate frosting! I did the colors by coloring the stamp with markers. Then I filled in the sprinkles and sponged around the cupcake. Cut out the cupcake and "tag corner" punched two corners. I stamped the stamp "you take the cake" with white on the dark purple and mounted the cupcake on that paper. I left room between the words and the cake to make a bow. Then I put the cupcake/word/bow piece of paper on 5 dimentionals to adhere it to the card. To give it the popped out effect. :)

Blessing Card
Confirmation

This was quick and easy card, done for a friend whose godchild will be confirmed tomorrow. Base card is regular white cardstock. To that I added 2 rectangles of beige and brown cardstock from the DCVW Nature Preserve collection. Then added the dove and praying hands pictures. Then finally to complete I printed the name and sentiment on a piece of the beige cardstock and mounted them on the card.

Happy New Year!!!
Hi,
I'm Deanne Burton, a new contributor here!!! I thought I'd share a New Year's card with you!!
It's based on a sketch by Susan Costanza.
I painted the chipboard snowflake and after it was dry, I added a layer of glue and then sprinkled it with white glitter! The green pearls were glued on as well. I added glue and glitter to the "2009", too.
Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!!!

Challenges
I have seen on here several times people mentioning color, sketch, layout challenges. Being a novice in cards and the crafting area, can someone tell me what these are? And, how do I find them?
I'd love to find ways to improve my card crafting and take me outside my "box" (besides looking at all your awesome creations), so if you know of places I can get the "motivation" please let me know.
Thanks,
Sandra

Christmas card time!
Nativity card: gold sponged, purple crystal brad, three bronze eyelets.

Christmas Tree card: this is actually a birthday hat stamp and I added stumps. Plus one has a star eyelet for its topper.

Happy Holidays card: scalloped, punched, dimentional-ed (pop up), ribbons and green crystal brad.

Snowflake card: Silver sponged, blue crystal brad, ribbon.

Lone tree card: gold eyelets, ribbon, green crystal brad.

Snoflake bookmark card: Lucky recievers of this card will get to keep the happy holidays bookmark! its tucked in a pocket made by silver eyelets. This one is also silver sponged, sorry the scans didnt turn out so well.
In Seattle’s misty shade
Violet her grand entrance made
On an early springtide day,
Now she crawls in merry play.
When Ginny sat with potty under
Her parents cheered in awestruck wonder
Talking day into the night,
Pink and princess her delight.
While rocky rills ‘neath foot were spurned
In the lab with lasers turned
Cells. His test were passed as planned;
Bens degree grows nigh at hand.
And Bri was crafting all about,
Sewing, baking, stamping out
Cards for you with Christmas joy;
Started by a baby boy.

Not a card....but cute
I made these notebooks for a group of girls that I teach at church. I thought they turned out really cute and wanted to share them. I could not get the first one to rotate right, so you get it sideways. These are just composition notebooks that I covered in paper. I also covered the back side in one of the plain colors from the front. The girls loved them.

Anniversary Card

My little sister and her husband are celebrating their first anniversary this month. I used the faux flower petals they threw at their wedding to make the flower. The center of the flower is pewter heart brads and silver gauze ribbon.
Their colors were navy blue and silver. I used navy blue cardstock. I didn't have any silver paper (nor could I find any, so if you know where to get silver papers let me know), so I had to make my own. I used medium vellum and a silver paint pen to make silver lined paper. I stamped the saying using silver pigment ink and cut out a tag. The tag is attached to the center of the flower using silver gauze ribbon.
