Christmas Card

I got the idea for this card from one I saw on Etsy only mine doesn't look as good as the one I saw. I would rather look on Etsy than any of the scrapbooking forums.

Marine Corps Birthday

I have a lot of friends and family who are associated with the Marine Corps for various reasons, so this year I decided to make them all "birthday" cards for the Marine Corps 233rd birthday.

I tried to make the cards look like the Marine Corps Dress Blues uniforms. I couldn't get some of the fine detailing done (couldn't find the supplies out here), but this is the end result.

I am interested in any advice on how to improve them, especially if you have suggestions on doing fine details like braiding, edging, etc.

Breast Cancer Month

I sent this card out to the breast cancer surviors I know last month.

My little sister (8 years old) painted papers for me and that is the background. One flower is raised by a dimentional. The rest is stamped and I did some sponging for the water and on the celebrate life word window. Its a little hard to see.

Christmas for the Children

I will make 3 cards similar to this card (I will change the layout a little) for my nieces (3 and 10) and our nephew (10). The image is from a RAK (random Act of Kidness) it's by High Hopes Santa & Rudy. The paper is The Paper Studio Tis The Season.

Stampin' Up Party cards

It's so fun to see so many people posting cards! I LOVE looking at them. I was going to do a shout-out for Christmas card ideas. Especially ones that use Christmas tree stamps. :)
Here are the cards we made at a stampin' up party about a month ago. They are designed by Julie Alberda. I asked her to create simple cards...aren't they cute?
I LOVE brown and pink!!
This one uses the new "Eastern Blooms" stamp set:
Not sure which stamps this one uses, but it is monochromatic and easy to make!

More cards

o

I just love doing this because it helps me find ways to use up all the scraps left over from scrapbooking. I have a whole drawer full of 1/4 pieces of paper left from matting photos, etc. Anyway, I think I'm over my huge card-making kick, so I'll stop posting my lame cards...

This is one of the several styles of Christmas Cards I will be making this holiday season. The stamps are from SU Sleigh Bells Ring set. The saying was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

More bday cards

Just don't laugh at my novice attempts at card making...

Just a quick one...

I sorta cheated and had the card itself from a kit. I came up with the design and other stuff, though. I got a Cropadile w/eyelets for my bday this past January and had lots of fun with the metal accent pieces. That Crop-a-dile thing is awkward, but well worth the hassle. Much better than a hammer and a multitude of pieces to do one simple crimp of an eyelet. I've seen a bigger version that sits on the desk and has a longer reach. Maybe next bday... :)

"Happy" card

I can't seem to find anywhere to take pictures that don't distort my colors. Oh well. I'm finally making cards again after about four months of insanity!! :) I'll post the cards we made at my Stampin' Up party -- courtesy of Demonstrator Julie Alberda -- soon!

This cards uses one of my FAVORITE stamp sets from Stampin' Up -- Happy Everything.

Thanks for following this blog!! Everytime somebody posts or comments, it really brightens my day!

Anniversary Card

This is for my parents 33 anniversary. I used vellum to overlay a photo from my brother's wedding (I wanted to get the hand holding look).

Some New Birthday Cards

This card was for a friend who is a mathematician. The inside read "and so is age".
This card was made from DCWV Spring Stack 2007, with a stamp from a Stampin Up set, I just used some colored pencils to fill in the stamp.
This card used paper from the DCWV 2007 Spring Stack, and stamps from a set from Stampin Up.

This card was for my BIL, who is in the Marine Corps. I was trying to use up some grey/black brick paper from one of the Slab stacks, and I thought this was a fun take on a "WANTED" poster. Instead of the "CAPTURED" across the picture, I used a Happy Birthday stamp from Inkadinkadoo.
This birthday card was for my FIL, who likes Westerns. The stamp is from Stampendous. I used metallic gel pen to make the cactus thorns.
